I added a few new features to Flip. I'll probably upgrade the weblog sometime next week. Stay tuned. Or not. No one else is.

Two things: I'm all moved. But the stupid f'ing property manager, Prudential Carruthers of Arlington, the jerks, flat out LIED to me this morning and stiffed me on the walk through. I took off from work and they just didn't show up. I called, and they pretended it was another time, and there was nothing I could do. I hate them - so unprofessional! I have half a mind to report them to the BBB. The other thing: flipsource.org is now operational. This application, although I haven't really done anything with it in the last two weeks, has grown quickly. If you like, read the development logs at flipsource.org.

The incompetents over at ehostsource.com, although they offer a great deal, are unable to keep flipsource.org running. It's been up for just about 30 seconds since I registered it. That said, I searched and searched. I found Logjamming.com on K5, and it seem to be the PERFECT place to host flipsource.org. After all, their specialty is weblogs, and I am writing the simplest weblog ever seen by man. I'll let you know when it's up.

I am moving. Friday. I am sooooooo not packed. Dammit.

What the hell is porridge? And who is eating it? According to dictionary.com: porridge: por·ridge Pronunciation Key (porij) n. A soft food made by boiling oatmeal or another meal in water or milk. Where do I start? What other "meals" are there? Corn meal? How many meals might make for a sensible porridge? Secondly, who is mixing meal with water? If I take the liberal definition, all Oatmeal as we know it is porridge. If I take a stricter route, someone is apparently looking at a grainy substance and saying "This 'meal' would be mighty tasty boiled in water or milk." Furthermore, I think we're all familiar with the oft repeated nursery rhyme that ends "Peas porridge in the pot, nine days old." Oh my! Are peas a "meal?" If so, does mixing peas with water or milk make a pea porridge? My peas are always cooked in water, but I've never considered it a porridge. Also, who would save any porridge for nine days? I can't imagine a 9 day old oatmeal, am I off track in assuming other "meals" would be equally unappetizing after 9 days in a nasty pot, doubtlessly unrefrigerated? So no one uses this weblog anymore. Except me. And Heidi - a little bit. The novelty wore off, I guess. But it's okay. I'm still going to use it for myself. I make myself laugh sometimes when I read the stupid crap I write. Sometimes, I'm embarassed I wrote it, but most of the time I'm amused. I once wrote a short story called "Earl's Roadside Motel." It actually started as my first college essay, "If I could be any person, living, deceased, or fictional..." but in the end, it became some 20 page story. I thought it was hilarious. I shared it with my Creative Writing class in college. Some people thought it was funny. Some said it sounded effortful. Some said it was a glimpse into the mind of a boy with ADD. I just thought it was random fun. It's funny. Maybe I'll put it up here sometime.

I realized, after reading an article, that this has been a great year for movies. There have been three huge movies so far: Spider-Man, Star Wars Ep II, and Austin Powers 3, and that's just 2002 through the end of summer. We still have two big movies coming out - Lord of the Rings 2: The Two Towers, and Harry Potter 2 (new trailer just released, check it out RIGHT HERE. The thing so amazing about this is that in the end, there's a good chance each of these movies will make 300 million bucks apiece and I actually liked all of them so far. We had some other high points too - from Bourne Identity to Signs. This has been a good year for movies. Now for a real question: If Bill Cosby's Leonard Part VI had been a hit, would the sequel be called "Leonard, Part VI, part II" or "Leonard, Part VII" or even "Leonard, Part II." I don't really know.

I really want to play this game called "1,000 Blank White Cards". The the premise is basically you either get points, lose points, or invent points. It's neat. Anyone want to play?

I'm sharing the log: http://sourceforge.net/projects/flipsource. It's definitely portable - I have uploaded it onto a new server, set up my options and users, and boom, it worked. I'm an application developer. Sure, laugh if you want, but you know how much I make an hour when I do this stuff?

Somebody needs to beat me up. I saw an ad for the new Real World: Las Vegas. I am hopelessly addicted to this show. I've seen every episode of every season (except London...lame!), and I can't stop. I'm not so voyeuristic, I just get addicted really quickly. What is it about these kids? I always thought they should've put cameras in my fraternity house. Surely, a Real World: JMU could have interested people. Yeah, we did a lot more drinking and a lot less arguing about racism and homosexuality, but we had fun. Plus, I'd like to see the kids on Real World get together for a spirited game of "Asshole." Show America how twenty-somethings really live, I say, don't show them the ridiculous filtered nuttiness of a few random, sheltered schmucks from Iowa. Oh well... just my thoughts.
